What can I do to support CAIA's boycott of Indigo Books and Music Inc?

CAIA has launched a campaign to boycott Indigo Books and Music Inc. until its controlling owners Heather Reisman and Gerry Shwartz publically cut all ties to Heseg - Foundation for Lone Soldiers. Some concrete things you can immediately do to support this campaign:

* Stop buying from Indigo, Chapters, World’s Biggest Bookstore, SmithBooks, Coles, The Book Company or Indigospirit until their controlling owners publicly announce that they will cut all financial ties to Heseg.

* Tell your friends and familly about the campaign.

* Print the following protest letter and mail/fax it to Indigo Books and Music Inc. corporate headquarters (contact information is included in the letter).

* If you have a Indigo Books and Music Inc. store in your neighborhood think about organizing a weekly or bi-weekly information picket, distributing information on the link to Heseg. Feel free to use our campaign leaflet and boycott Chapters/Indigo placard.

* If you're in Toronto join CAIA's joint weekly picket with the Jewish Women's Committee Against the Occupation every Friday @ 5pm in front of the Indigo store at Bay/Bloor. Similar pickets are being held in Montreal and Halifax already.

* Use our resources - Including: Indigo/Chapters campaign factsheets: HESEG factsheet / Alternative bookstores factsheet (Toronto) or any one of our multilingual campaign leaflets (for distribution in front of C/I bookstores or to contacts) English version (.PDF format), French version (.PDF format), Bilingual/Quebec version (.PDF format), Arabic (forthcoming), Hebrew (forthcoming), Cantonese (forthcoming), Spanish (forthcoming), Tamil (forthcoming), Italian version (.PDF format), and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian (cyrillic alphabet and latin alphabet versions). You can also print and distribute our campaign bookmark (bookmark front / bookmark back - .PDF // Bilingual/Quebec version - .PDF).

* Make use of CAIA's speakers' bureau and invite us to speak in your workplace, school, faith-organization, labour union, campus, etc.

* Help us translate with community outreach by translating our leaflet into your language or posting articles in your community newspapers.
